Product Description

Lycium barbarum polysaccharide is a kind of bioactive substance extracted from Lycium barbarum. It is a light yellow fibrous solid, which can promote immune function of T, B, CTL, NK and macrophages, and promote the production of cytokines such as IL-2, IL-3 and TNF-β. It can enhance the immune function and regulate the neuroendocrine immunomodulatory (NIM) network of tumor-bearing, chemotherapy and radiation-damaged mice, and has multiple functions of regulating immunity and delaying aging.

Function:

The main effects of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide are to enhance immune and immune regulation function, promote hematopoietic function, reduce blood lipids, anti-fatty liver, anti-tumor, anti-aging

1. Reproductive system protection function

Goji berries are used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat infertility. Lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBP) can repair and protect the chromosomes of spermatogenic cells after injury by anti-oxidation and regulating the axis of hypothalamus, pituitary gland and gonad.

2. Anti-oxidation and anti-aging

The antioxidant function of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide has been confirmed in a large number of in vitro experiments. LBP can inhibit the loss of sulfhydryl protein and the inactivation of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase caused by radiation, and its effect is better than that of vitamin E.

3. Immune regulation

Lycium barbarum polysaccharide affects immunomodulatory function in many ways. By further separation and purification of crude polysaccharide by ion exchange chromatography, a proteoglycan complex of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide 3p was obtained, which has immunostimulating effect. Lycium barbarum polysaccharide 3p has immune-enhancing and potential anti-tumor effects. Lycium barbarum polysaccharide 3p can inhibit the growth of transplanted S180 sarcoma, increase the phagocytic capacity of macrophages, the proliferation of splenic macrophages and the secretion of antibodies in splenic cells, the viability of damaged T macrophages, the expression of IL2mRNA and the decrease of lipid peroxidation.

4. Anti-tumor

Lycium barbarum polysaccharide can inhibit the growth of various tumors. Lycium barbarum polysaccharide 3p significantly inhibits the growth of S180 sarcoma by increasing immunity and decreasing lipid peroxidation. There are also data showing that the anti-tumor effect of lycium barbarum polysaccharide is related to the regulation of calcium ion concentration. For example, studies on human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line QGY7703 showed that Lycium barbarum polysaccharide could inhibit the proliferation of QGY7703 cells and induce their apoptosis during the S phase of the division cycle. The increase in the amount of RNA and the concentration of calcium ions in the cell can also change the distribution of calcium ions in the cell. Lycium barbarum polysaccharide can inhibit the growth of PC3 and DU145 cell lines of prostate cancer, and there is a dose-time response relationship, causing the DNA break of cancer cells, and inducing apoptosis through the expression of Bcl2 and Bax proteins. In vivo experiments have shown that Lycium barbarum polysaccharide can inhibit the growth of PC3 tumor in nude mice.

5. Regulate blood lipids and reduce blood sugar

Lycium LBP can decrease the content of MDA and nitric oxide in blood glucose and serum, increase the content of SOD in serum, and reduce the DNA damage of peripheral lymphocytes in rats with non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM). LBP can reduce the levels of blood glucose and blood lipid in diabetic rabbits induced by alloxouracil, and in rats fed high fat diet. Lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBP) from 20 to 50mgkg-1 can protect liver and kidney tissue in streptozotocin induced diabetes, indicating that LBP is a good hypoglycemic substance.

6. Radiation resistance

Lycium barbarum polysaccharide can promote the recovery of peripheral blood image of myelosuppressed mice caused by X-ray and carboplatin chemotherapy, and can stimulate the production of recombinant granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) in human peripheral blood monocytes. The radiation induced mitochondrial membrane damage in mouse hepatocytes was decreased by lycium LBP, which significantly improved the loss of mitochondrial sulfhydryl protein and the inactivation of SOD, catalase and GSHPx, and its anti-radiation function was more obvious than tocopherol.

7. Neuroprotection

Lycium berry extract can play a neuroprotective role by resisting the endoplasmic reticulum stress level of nerve cells, and may play a role in the occurrence of Alzheimer's disease. Human aging is mainly caused by cellular oxidation, and Lycium barbarum polysaccharide can directly eliminate hydroxyl free radicals in vitro and inhibit the spontaneous or induced lipid peroxidation by hydroxyl free radicals. Lycium LBP can improve the activities of glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) in Dhalf of lactose-induced senescence mice, so as to remove excess free radicals and delay senescence.

8. Anti-cancer effect

The biological effect of Lycium barbarum on cancer cells was observed by cell culture in vitro. It was proved that Lycium barbarum had obvious inhibitory effect on human gastric adenocarcinoma KATO-I cells and human cervical cancer Hela cells. Lycium barbarum polysaccharide treated 20 cases of primary liver cancer, which showed that it could improve symptoms and immune dysfunction and prolong survival. Lycium barbarum polysaccharide can regulate the anti-tumor activity of mouse LAK cells.

Application:

Lycium barbarum polysaccharide, as a natural polysaccharide compound, may have certain application potential.

 1. Health products: Lycium barbarum polysaccharide may be used in health products to improve immunity, antioxidant and regulate body functions.

 2. Drugs: Lycium barbarum polysaccharide may be used in traditional Chinese medicine preparations to regulate the immune system, assist in the treatment of inflammation, etc.

 3. Cosmetics: Lycium barbarum polysaccharide may be used in skin care products to have moisturizing and antioxidant effects.
