Function:
1. Anti-tumor effect
(1) Skin cancer
Fucoxanthin inhibited the enhancement of ornithine decarboxylase activity in mouse epidermal skin induced by tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA), and cacao inhibited the activation of human herpesvirus induced by TPA, thereby inhibiting TPA-induced skin tumors.
(2) Colon cancer
Fucoxanthin can inhibit the formation of duodenal carcinoma induced by n-ethyl-N '-nitro-n-nitroguanidine. Fucoxanthine significantly inhibited the growth of colon cancer cell lines, including Caco-2, HT-29 and DLD-1. It can induce DNA breakage of colon cancer cells, promote cell apoptosis, and inhibit the expression of apoptosis-related protein Bcl-2.
Fucoxanthin can inhibit the proliferation of human colon cancer cell line WiDr in a dose-dependent manner, and can block the cell cycle in G0/ G1 phase and induce apoptosis.
(3) Hematological tumors
Effect of fucoxanthin on HL-60 cell line of acute myeloid leukemia. Fucoxanthin can significantly inhibit the proliferation of HL-60 cells. Effect of fucoxanthin on adult T lymphocytic leukemia. Fucoxanthin and its metabolite fucoxanol inhibit the survival of T cells infected with human T-cell lymphotropic virus type 1 (HTLV-1) and adult T-cell leukemia cells.
(4) Prostate cancer
Fucoxanthin can significantly reduce the survival rate of prostate cancer cells and induce cell apoptosis. Fucoxanthin and its metabolite fucoxanol can inhibit the proliferation of PC-3 cells, activate Caspase-3 and induce apoptosis.
(5) Liver cancer
Fucoxanthoxanthine can inhibit the growth of HepG2 cells, block the cell in G0/G1 phase, and inhibit Rb protein phosphorylation at Ser780 site
2.Antioxidant effect
Fucoxanthin has a good antioxidant effect, even better than vitamin E and vitamin C. Fucoxanthin has protective effect on human fibrocyte injury caused by UV-B. Fucoxanthin's antioxidant activity is mainly through the regulation of Na+-K+ -ATPase activity, as well as the regulation of catalase and glutathione activity in tissues and molecules caused by retinol deficiency. Fucoxanthin is beneficial to eye health, especially its protective effect on the retina, which helps prevent eye diseases such as cataracts and macular degeneration.
3.Anti-inflammatory effect
Fucoxanthin inhibited the exudation of endotoxin-induced inflammatory mediators in a dose-dependent manner, and its anti-inflammatory effect was comparable to prednisolone, indicating that fucoxanthin had certain inhibitory effects on endotoxin-induced inflammatory penetration, NO, PGE2 and tumor necrosis factor in mice. Its anti-inflammatory effect is mainly through inhibiting the exudation of NO in the inflammatory reaction caused by LPS induced macrophages. RT-PCR analysis showed that the mRNA of NO synthetase and cyclooxygenase were inhibited by fucoxanthin, and the expression of tumor necrosis factor, leukocyte interleukin IL-1β and IL-6, and mRNA viability factor were inhibited by fucoxanthin. These results suggest that fucoxanthin may play an important role in a variety of inflammatory responses.
4.Lose weight
