Golden-rod extract is a whole grass extract from Solidago Virgaurea plant, Its extract contains phenolic components, tannins, volatile oils, saponins, flavonoids and so on. Phenolic components include chlorogenic acid and caffeic acid. Flavonoids include quercetin, quercetin, rutin, kaempferol glucoside, centaurin and so on.

Function:

1.Anticancer pharmacology
The methanol extract from the rhizomes of Golden-rod is had strong anti-tumor activity, and the inhibitory rate of tumor growth was 82%. The inhibition rate of ethanol extract was 12.4%. Solidago flower also has antitumor effect.

2.Diuretic effect
Golden-rod extract has diuretic effect, the dose is too large, but can reduce urine volume.

3.Antibacterial action
Golden-rod flower has different degree of antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, diplococcus pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Schutschi and Sonnei dysenteriae.

4.Antitussive, asthmatic, expectorant effect
Golden-rod can relieve wheezing symptoms, reduce dry rales, because it contains saponins, and has expectorant effects.

5.hemostasis
Golden-rod has hemostatic effect on acute nephritis (hemorrhagic), which may be related to its flavonoid, chlorogenic acid and caffeic acid. It can be used externally to treat wounds, and may be related to its volatile oil or tannin content.
