Product Description
D-xylose is a kind of 5-carbon sugar obtained by hydrolysis of hemicellulose rich plants such as wood chips, straw and corn cobs, with the chemical formula C5H10O5. Colorless to white crystalline or white crystalline powder, slightly special smell and refreshing sweet. The sweetness is about 40% of sucrose. With a melting point of 114 degrees, it is dextrooptically active and variable optically active, easily soluble in hot ethanol and pyrimidine, and its sweetness is 67% of sucrose. Xylose is chemically similar to glucose and can be reduced to the corresponding alcohol, such as xylitol, or oxidized to 3-hydroxy-glutaric acid. The human body can't digest it, can't use it. Natural crystals are found in a variety of ripe fruits.
